In game design I have been making blueprints which I can use for making my assets in 3ds max.
I made these in Photoshop using a tablet and the brush tool to sketch out the lines of were things would be placed and shaped around. These blueprints also had to be 2d and needed 2 blueprints if I needed to do more than one side of an asset.
I will put these blue prints in 3ds max onto a plane and that way I can work from different viewing points to build my models from to get the assets I need for my environment.
Here is an example of a couple of my blueprints for one of my asset models.
1st side.

2nd side.

Main door, for this one I only had to make one side as the player would not be seeing any more than one of its sides from were the player can operate in the environment.

I made some asset blueprints for things like my chairs and doors which would be implemented in my level, I may of course modify the assets after to make it more to how I will want in my game level, for example I am doing post apocalyptic environment so I may make them more torn up or broken if I chose to.
Ill be making assets for each of the things on my asset list and will be making the assets soon for my environment.
