Lighting

For my environment I have been experimenting which doing the lighting to get my game environment right.

I am mostly using candles as my environment is post apocalyptic meaning I will not be able to use electric lighting, because of the fact I have to work with candles I am making my environment to look like it was the Victorian times when the apocalyptic time came to make sense with the lighting. Of course I have to be careful to make it not too dark or bright as that it one of the biggest challenges to this sort of setting indoors. Darkness however can be a good fit into the environment as it can help make a good atmosphere, I am still going to tweak on the lighting until the project is done as getting the lighting right can make or break and environment in my opinion. I also shall say I added a colour volume filter to make the main large area more reddish and sinister and the cellar area to be a bit more darker to be harder to see there.

From this image below you can see my dining area, this is going to have candles on the table to light up this area.

From this image below I have an open area in my environment from the decay of time as things like planks will have cracked and fallen apart as time has gone on. Because of this I have been able to add in a day light from the outside to shine in from there to give more light. There is also a curtain which you can not really see the block out of in this image but will be there once I have made the asset once that is done there will be additional lighting from there  as I can have them open a little bit.

I have implement a fireplace also so I can make the place feel more grand and at the same time have a reason to add more lighting in which make sense to a brighter intensity so the player can see.
