This week in FMP my WordPress document has deleted 978 words of content on my original reflection, I originally posted it last night and I had it on today as I updated it and I have definitely not accidently deleted the content so that’s what has also happened today on one of things that I have done in terms of things unexpectedly not going according to plan.
This week in my FMP I have been working on my game, I unfortunately last night have been working on my game and then when I tried to re open it later for some unknown reason it got corrupted so that was extremely unfortunate considering the fact I need to hand in my game today, however there is some fortune what I found, I went onto the o drive because I was sure I backed up my work for the game and it turns out I was right, however it unfortunately it was an older version of my game and turns out all the code was not in which was a shame, there were some other things missing as well. So today when I got my game back and have backed it up onto two other memory sticks as well as the o drive of course and I immediately started to work on it to try and get my game back to how it was, unfortunately it is taking longer than expected and I am going to have to hand in the finished version of it when I come back after the holyday week. I have fallen back a bit in the previous week in doing the modelling so I could not finish that either. I have spoken to one of my tutors about it and they said to just update the blogs and get them finished and Ill have to work over the next week on it.
I have gotten lots of the game together at least, I have gotten 75% at least of the models I want however there are a couple which I could not do due to corrupted file, I wanted to add a few more things into the background and scenery to give it a more realistic look to the game and give it more perfection as to how I want it. In terms of the coding my game is designed to not be majorly dependant on using code as it is a brief story game as I have chosen, I decided to go for this idea as I wanted to focus on 3d modelling and if I had a short story game all I may have to program depending on the story is mostly the movement and changing the scenes to progress the short story. My story is on Arthur becoming king by proving himself as the one true king of England by pulling the sword from the stone like he did in the myths. I have recorded my voice using my own blue yeti microphone at home and recorded it in adobe premier for the voice of the narrator/guide to Arthur and the player telling him what he must do to achieve becoming king.
I will also say that on a mental note that sometimes during the project I have felt a little stressed while doing it in terms of the fact we have had much less time compared to the last project and for the fact my original game was corrupted today was a stressful day for me. However overall I have enjoyed doing this project in terms of doing the 3d modelling as I am glad I have got to focus more in an area which I prefer.
The game.
