I sent out a survey to find out what people liked in a game environment and I also did mind mapping so that I could expand on ideas for what my environment will be or will be like.
For my first question on my survey I asked in you opinion what style is better? People responded with cartoony as their favourite. This is probably because it can make them forget a bit about the gritty reality and put them into an immersive game which can take their mind of things.

I asked what game layout do you prefer? The most popular choice for people by double was hub, the least was maze a 0%. I think this is because people prefer to have a game layout which they can interact with more or to move the plot forward which is why maze is the least favourite.

I asked do you prefer indoor or outdoor setting? People responded with indoor the least by 20% but overall it was a tie between outdoor and don’t mind either as some people were not sure.

I asked people if they like puzzle element implemented into the game? People responded with yes at 70% and not sure with the least at 10%. This could be because puzzle elements can have a challenge but it may not appealing to everyone as they may not find it as appealing.

I asked people do you want the level to have lots of accessible areas? People responded with yes by 90%. This is probably because they would like to get more out of their game than a small designed game for additional entertainment.

I also asked people do you like to find hidden areas in the level? People responded with yes at 90%. People probably like this because they like to try and find things that other people have not found as like a self achievement.

I also asked for a post apocalyptic game, how many years into it would they want? People responded with 100 years at most popular at 30% but overall this question had people at the most diverse as there were only 20% difference at the most for each of the choices given to people.
